As some of you know, Len has had a bumpy ride since he's transplant 18 months ago. Yesterday morning he started with the horrible stomach pains. I started giving him pain shots every 4 hours and in between was giving him fental tablets. Last night about midnight he finally :puke; and felt a little better. At 3 am he got me up and I gave him a pain shot and took his temperature, it was 99.9 so I sat in the chair the rest of the night and this morning I took him to the Emergency room. He was really dehydrated and they hooked him up to an IV (took 2 hours) and then they sent him home. I am suppose to watch him closely for the fever and hopefully get some fluids in him or he is to go back to the ER and get more IV fluid. He seems to be going through this every 3 months no matter what we do. I am so thankful that the GI doctor at least lets me give him pain shots as that does seem to help. Len was suppose to get labs done today but all the doctors involved said to wait until Monday because all his numbers will be messed up. I can't tell you how impressed I was this morning when 3 doctors personally called me. I'm so happy that they take an active role in Len's care. Well, I think I am going to try and take a nap because I might have another long night. Thanks for being here for me when I need to talk. :cuddle;

That sweet man has had way too much going on. I just want you both to have a break. Give Len a gentle hug from us. We love you both. :cuddle;

Dear W/W,
I do so hope that Len is feeling much better. Sending
:grouphug; to both of you,
Anne

W&W - I missed this somehow. I'm hoping that by the time I am writing this everything has settled down. I am sending you and Len love and hugs. :cuddle;
-
:thx; everyone for you thoughts. We are taking one day at a time.
:waving; Linda, it seems to take about 5 days for him to start feeling better. He's weight is down to 135 and that has me worried. We go for labs tomorrow and they might have him go get more IV fluids. We shall see. :cuddle;
-
Oh the weight thing doesn't sound so good. I forget, can he drink the liquid protein drinks? He needs some high quality protein somehow. :cuddle;
-
pelagia, the problem is, he can't seem to drink much of anything before the stomach problems start. That's why the GI doctor keeps pushing the feeding tube. I'll know more tomorrow I hope. :cuddle;
-
Can Len eat eggs? Or small amounts of fish?
Hope things improve and he can gain some weight, poor guy.
Take care Kathy. :cuddle; :cuddle;

Sorry to hear this about Len :grouphug;

:thx; Guys. Len had to go get labs done this morning and still is not feeling so great. I'm concerned because he isn't peeing much. Doctor has said that because he got so dehydrated last Wednesday and only received the one liter of fluid on Thursday that it is going to take some time for things to get back to normal, or as normal as they get around here. He is also having some problems with diarrhea and that sure does him in fast. I'm keeping an close eye on him and the doctors will call as soon as they get lab results back, so I sit here and wait. :cuddle;
-
We are sitting right beside you waiting. :grouphug; Give Len hugs from us.
-
hope to get an update soon. :grouphug;
-
Really hoping things get sorted soon for you and of course for Len. :grouphug;
