LoCurto undergoes kidney transplant surgery
Delaware Council Member Michael LoCurto underwent kidney transplant surgery Monday that friends described as successful.
LoCurto’s longtime partner, Kathryn A. Foster, head of the University at Buffalo Regional Institute, was his donor. The two went public with their story two weeks ago to help raise awareness about transplants and the need for donors.
For LoCurto, it was his second transplant surgery. He received a heart and liver transplant 13 years ago.
The surgery was done in the University at Pittsburgh Medical Center.
