Dialysis centers in Lawton, Anadarko shut down
Last Update: 1:16 pm

LAWTON, Okla. (AP) - Dialysis centers in Lawton and Anadarko have shut down after state inspectors found several violations.

American Dialysis in Lawton and Anadarko Dialysis have both closed for violations including broken equipment and outdated medications. At the Lawton clinic investigators found rodent and insect infestation.

The U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services also began an investigation Monday of the two centers after receiving an anonymous complaint.

Agency spokesman Tony Salters says the centers are operated by Dr. Freedom Ikedionwu and voluntarily shut down.

A woman who answered the phone Friday at American Dialysis in Lawton said the company had no comment. She refused to identify herself.
