Title: Nocturnal Worries
Post by: kitkatz on March 08, 2009, 09:37:37 PM
My favorite/best tech left the center I am at. She could set me up so no blood pressure drops and still take off weight. The others are so, so and I have been having blood pressure drops towards the end of sessions.

I am also losing weight so dry weight is a best guess thing now.  Blood pressure drops put weight on me I do not necessarily need back on me.

Also these people do NOT hear machine alarms lately. They left one machine hollering for fifteen minutes the other night. I damn near had a fit at the nurse.  He told me he could not hear it where he was at. WTF!?  Cannot hear a machine for fifteen minutes?  and I am trying to sleep. I told him get someone who CAN here the damn things.

Funny thing was he asked me if I had my meds yet. I said no and maybe he could bring them, then I would not care anymore and could sleep!

I will  be kicking ass and taking names soon!

I can just see KitKatz now, laying in bed just waiting for the next alarm to go off. Then she pulls out from underneath her pillow an air horn. Yep, the kind you take to a sporting event. Then she pulls the trigger and almost empties the can. The techs come a running to see what’s up. Be quiet they say, others are trying to sleep.  KitKatz say’s no SH__!

Give em hell KitKatz.. >:D

That is ridiculous for a tech to say they didn't hear an alarm. Where the hell were they??  That is their job. Suppose something had been seriously wrong. Those alarms are loud enough for anyone to hear.  Take your  :Kit n Stik; the next time kit!!!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the nocturnal routine.  It would have been nice if the tech who took care of you so well would have passed on some tips about your care to the other techs before she left.

As for them not hearing a machine alarm for 15 minutes, I have to wonder what would have happened if that alarm had been an emergency?  Sounds unsafe to me.   :waiting;

Never mind the stick - who was it that suggested bringing a paint ball gun?

Damn why can't they all be good at their job.  The good ones set the bar and we should not be expected to take any less.  If you need help writing a letter let me know.....

I have become a pro at letter writing my complaints, but thanks.  Makes me crazy when staff changes and I have tog et used to new people.  The new guy seems okay.

My first thought was an air horn, as well.  But over the weekend I found a small bull horn that changes the sound of your voice!   This would be perfect because they won't know it's you!   :rofl;   You could just yell out "Alarm going off!".  Then tuck the bull horn away.     :clap;

hee hee    Drive them nuts!   It makes you sound like an alien, actually.  Actually, more futuristic!  Pretty cool.

Out of Benadryl on Friday night at the center. Sigh.  When the nurse first told me this I thought "April Fool, right." Wrong! I was awake off and on all night.

Heyas...I just wrote a bit on my blog (shameless plug) about staff changes. le sigh.  I'm inclined to think that losing good techs on nocturnal is more irritating than it was during the day.  We really just have one or two techs, and one nurse at night, so if one of them leaves, it's not a good thing. And since the changes happen suddenly at my clinic, there isn't opportunity for staff to pass on their knowledge of particular patients.

Anyhoo...step over to my blog for more of my complaining...hehehe... www.niteynitedialysis.blogspot.com

I need to complain this morning.  Last night the center had no Benadryl to give to me. Seems they ran out.  Now I have problems sleeping with out it.  An hour sleep and I am headed out to teacher meetings today.  Lordy Lord help me!   How can the center run out of a drug?

My center is no longer providing IV Benadryl, except in emergencies that have to do with an allergic reaction.

My center ran out of needles and paper tape.  You can get paper tape on the streets pretty easy but not the 15ga needles.

i'm lucky my center has any techs or nurses. the nurse manager has pissed everyone off to the point, they're quitting right and left. most of the patients are on the war path too. i have heard that several have moved to other centers. the only reason nocturnal is doing well is our nurse. she was offered the managers position but declined.

So Rerun I can imagine you out on the street hitting the black market for tape and needles!
