I just got the news that my fourth possible donor was turned down after the crossmatch test. I am feeling a little frustrated. I called the transplant center to ask if my antibodies were high and she said they were not normal but they were not high. What does that mean? Has anyone been told that before?

I don't have an answer for you regarding the antibodies, but I do understand the frustration of denied donors. Keep the faith. :cuddle;

It is frustrating and upsetting each time the call comes that the donor doesn't match. I am sorry this is happening. My PRA is 100% but it wasn't until the fifth denial that they informed me of the exact problem. :banghead; Ask as many questions as you can. My center is probably sick of all my questions. Keep pushing forward. I hope a donor is found soon. :cuddle;

I am in the same boat as you S&J
I have had 8 donors turned down, and I still don't exactly know what the main problem is besides antibodies..
I wish I had words of wisdom to share with you, but all I can say is that I know how you feel, and it sucks :cuddle;

was it the same situation as you...seems hopeless ...keep your head up the right one will match!! God Bless !!

Marvin has had eight living donor turn-downs, too. His PRA is 98%. His "odds" are not good, but our hopes are still high that it will happen...one day...maybe.

Sorry to hear this staceyandjoe92, I can feel your frustration, I would ask what the problem is like Paris did. Better to know than always wondering.

I'm sorry to hear this. Keep the faith and I will keep you in my prayers! :flower;
