Thanks to all who responded to "A New Worry"! :thx; Before yesterday's dialysis, I had a long talk with the nurse practitioner - who had not been informed of the problem on Saturday! It has now been fully documented. She agreed with me that because I do not retain fluids, very little fluid needs to be removed. We agreed on .3 liter (300cc) as the amount I should have taken off for now. She put it in my records and added it to the computer screen with my information. One of the nurses and a tech then showed me how to read the machine - which is now turned so I can see it. I feel much better about things now. I even went ahead and had them start using my fistula! Although I know it will be a while, I cannot wait until I can get rid of this darn catheter. Thanks again for the encouragement and suggestions. :grouphug;

It is good to hear that yesterday was better. We go into this whole situation thinking the doctors and nurses know everything. And they are brilliant, but we, as the patient, need to have control over what happens to us. I am glad your team listened to you and also glad that IHD members helped you. That is why we are all here!
