My youngest daughter decided to take a drive to
Nikiski, a city approximately 160 miles south of home.
Her jeep is now stuck on a trail off of the main highway.
I called the volunteer fire department and they went and
picked her and her friend up after they walked to the main
highway. She says she walked approximately a mile.
Damn it. How the hell am I going to get her vehicle unstuck!!
:stressed; :stressed; :stressed; :stressed;
Hopefully I be back this afternoon. Wish me luck.

Glad she's okay.

It doesn't matter how grown our children get, they still call Mom and we have to figure things out. I hope you find an easy solution. Glad the firemen picked them up and they are ok. Just wish the car could magically be back on the highway! Good luck :thumbup;

Sorry to hear that this happenedto you and so far away Hopefully someone else can help you/your daughter get the vehicle out.

Good luck :thumbup;

We lucked out, big time.
Thanks to the kindness of a stranger with a front end loader,
he plowed a path to my daughters jeep. Moved a ton of snow to
get there. Then pulled her car back to the main road.
We flagged him down at the 7/11, he was running in to get a hot
dog for lunch. The timing was perfect. A chance meeting in a small town.
Now, thinking back, a front end loader was the best possible choice
because of the amount of snow, and the lenght of the trail.
He was only going to charge us $75. Ended up tipping him another
$75. We made other calls to get quotes and the least amount was
$350!! Really the picture doesn't do justice about the amount of snow.
And no, she will not try to 4x4 in the winter again.

Lesson learned just because you have 4 wheel drive does not mean you can drive anywhere. Suspension and type of tires and clearance is needed as well. It was probably fun while it lasted though.
-
Wow, I wouldn't know what to do - glad you worked it out!
-
I would have been up sh** creek. I am glad that was sorted out!
-
Glad it was taken care of so cheap.
Maybe for a present of some sort, 4 wheel drive driving lessons. Jeep puts them on, local clubs, and so forth. Four Wheel drive magazines would help.
