I feel so young I wasn't even a year old then
-
i watched it happen.
-
I haven't seen that in years...I saw it live too and was in shock when it happened. It was so unbelievable.
-
We watched it in my fifth grade English class. No one knew what to say. It was so sad.
-
That still puts my heart in my throat to see it explode in the sky! The teacher McCauliff was on that shuttle mission. So sad!
-
Jenna was 3 months old. I cannot watch a replay, it's so tragic.
-
I was 17, skipping school to work an extra shift.. we all ran outside to watch the shuttle go up...it was horrible to realize what had happened. :'(
-
I was at work and made some bad joke about it and my boss left he was so mad at me. I have a bad habit of making a joke when I'm not comfortable or in the face of tragedy. Then 3 months later I was in that plane crash so I remember thinking I deserved it.
-
I saw it on Television live. :thumbdown;
-
I was 19.
I remember it well. A sad sad day in our history. I also watched it live on TV.
-
I remember watching it live as well. And then it was replayed and replayed and replayed. How sad.
-
I remember I was in Chicago at Water Tower Place. All the stores had TVs in their windows and throughout the store because the Chicago Bears had gone (and won) the Super Bowl for the first time the previous Sunday and the TVs were still out every where. Every where you looked they were showing the shuttle launch.
I was in a crowd of strangers, watching a TV through a store window. No sound. We tried to understand what we were seeing hoping that there was some other explanation. It was verry strange. When it began to sink in what had happened the crowds broke up and people shuffled off deflated. It is so sad
The mood all through the city went from this buzz of post Super Bowl elation to morning, like someone threw a switch.
-
I remember like it was yesterday...
I watched it live, I was feeding my new baby and didn't understand what I was seeing... so very sad :'(
-
I was in high school at the time. We didn't have any tv or radio coverage going on throughout the school. An announcement over the intercom was made over the tragedy, but at the time we didn't know how severe it was. Not untill we got home did we know what happened.
Either they need to come up with a new shuttle or redesign the current one with newer technology, not technology from the late 60's and 70's
-
I was a Senior in High School. It was a shocking and horrific tragedy. :'(
-
I was home for some odd reason and was watching I Love Lucy when they broke n with the shuttle launch. I remember I was doing laundry and watching the TV.
I could not believe it blew up and those astronauts were gone!
-
I was a Sophmore in High School and watched it happen in my Spanish Class. We were all in shock. I remember my Spanish teacher just bowing his head and crying....
-
Jenna was 3 months old. I cannot watch a replay, it's so tragic.
Jenna and my daughter must be the same age... Melissa -October 21/85
-
My daughter was September 1985.
-
I remember this day very clearly. I was in 3rd grade, and we were watching the launch live on tv. It's one of the few few moments of my childhood that I can clearly remember. It still saddens me to this day.
-
This is one of those events that you remember where you were. If you are old enough the Kennedy assassination is another.
I was outside at work when the shuttle blew up and everyone was yelling come inside and look at the TV.
