I'd like to introduce myself. I'm Jon, from No. California.
I've been diabetic since 1990 or 1991(during Desert Storm). Last October, the combination of diabetes, high b.p. and "other things(creatnine over 4.3)" combined to make me have to start dialysis. I "lived" with a tunneled catheter for two months, then started using my access, and went to buttonhole after three months.
I'm currently signed up with two different programs re:transplant(I'm lucky, since each is in a different UNOS district). Unfortunately, due to a couple of ulcers on the bottom of my left foot, my evals are on hold. But I am taking care of my "physical tests" as I can arrange them. The nice thing about one of the facilities is that unlike the other one, I don't have to have all my tests done to be on their list. So, since September '08 I have been building up my time credits. And I am signed up at the one place for both regular program and the extended criteria program.
I found this forum a while ago, and have done much looking around. I look forwad to participating!
