Just a quick intro..... I was on dialysis for nearly three years before I received the best gift of all..... My kidney. I am now celebrating just over 30 years of a new life. Transplant going great, have had to find a new professor ( my first one has now retired) .
Will add more info later or feel free anyone to ask questions.
Cheers for now

Welcome to our community, Theresa! Greetings from a fellow member of the Commonwealth (born in Barbados, living in the British Virgin Islands) We have lots of Aussies here! Whenever I hear the word 'Sydney', I think of 'Finding Nemo'! We are so glad you decided to join our wonderful group. 30 years!!! You have much to share with us. We have a Transplant Section. Please go over there and tell us your story. You have found more than a website - this is a family :grouphug; - a place for information, support, and even some fun. Keep reading and keep posting.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Theresa
I'm a fellow Sydneyite. Wow, you have done really well with your transplant. This is a fabulous site with lots of terrific people. I am sure you are going to love it here. Good luck with the new neph. Mine is terrific. I am attached to Royal North Shore but I know there are terrific nephs at both RPA and Westmead as well. Looking forward to your posts. xx

That is absolutely incredible!! 30 years!! Oh my gosh!! Was that a matched live donation or what? That gives those of us waiting for "the call" some hope that a transplant CAN last for a considerable amount of time. You must be a strong and amazing woman!! Welcome and G'day to a fellow aussie up the road!!!! :ausflag; :welcomesign;
