Original question:
If you had a transplant then lost it would you choose to go back on dialysis?
-
I said "NO" for 17 years, but here I am, so I would have to vote yes. :-\
-
I vote yes because I am still not ready to quit life. I only wish that if I ever get a transplant that when I return to dialysis I could return to PD but know that will not be.
-
Yes... it just fascinates me that you can have life after the transplanted organ rejects. With lungs, when they reject you are done for... it is so nice to be given a third, fourth, fifth, etc.

MelissaJean, please expand on that with starting a new topic. Maybe call it "Other Organ Transplants". I'm interested in what happens and what you are feeling. Also, do lungs finally fail like kidneys do? ALL the dumb questions that I hate about kidney failure.
-
Ya I am interested too! Please do as she suggested! ;)
I would have to say yes .. because I am too young to give up and here I am after my transplant has failed on dialysis for 5 years now. I also wish I could go back to PD but that is no longer an option :(

If your transplant fails, and you decide not to go back on dialysis, is that suicide? :-\

No, it is a decision to not accept treatment of life support.
