Well finally after months of testing and etc. my coordinator called me today with the date of my transplant. March 4th!!!! So my dad and i will be going down to the hospital the week before for a few days to get last minute testing done and so on but then god willing on the 4th it will be done and over with...I'm so excited and yet a part of me is still a little in shock and scared. I know I've only been doing dialysis with my cath for less than 2 months but god I will be so happy to get this thing out of my neck and never go back to that center again!!!HORRAY!!!

First of all welcome Christine....It completely normal to be scared b4 transplant but i got to thinking about all the bad experiences that i had at the dialysis center and look forward to the day of transplant. and yes its not going to be easy after transplant either all these "drugs" u will be taking will make u tired, weak just plain miserable at times but i will take that trade anyday long as i dont have to set in that chair for 3 1/2hrs 3x a week..glad it wasnt a long time b4 transplant so u dont have to suffer through them treatments..seems like its gonna take for ever for the date gets here but hang in there it will be over b4 u know it.. and YES its a relief to get the cath out of your neck too...best of luck!!..BTW it wasnt a bad procedure to have the cath removed either . which it will stay in six weeks after transplant to make sure everthing is ok...and yes this is a great site for all your questions......Chris

Congrats, only less than 2 months to go and it will go by quick. You'll be fine especially when they give you the meds to knock you out :rofl; You won't worry about a thing then.
Good Luck

Wow! Great news! Living donors are Angels in my book. You will find the time flys, as I am finding. I got my approval in late November and my date is set for Feb 3rd. We will be pretty close! Time is going by fast for me, especially now. Hope you find that too. Blessings to you and your Dad. (I take it he is your donor?) PM's are ok, if you have any questions I can answer. The folks here are great support!
