A friend of mine was in a light plane crash on Christmas Eve when he was going from his property (ranch) in the country to his in-laws property about a two hour flight away. He was the pilot. He was going back after he and his brother-in-law took a day trip to do some cattle mustering. He was headed home to be with his wife and their two young children and had his brother-in-law on board. Bad weather hit and he crashed into a hillside. He has multiple fractures and head injuries but sadly his brother-in-law did not survive the crash. He was just 32. I feel so badly for him and his beautiful wife who has now lost her brother. They said it was an absolute miracle that Scott got out alive. He had to stay in the bush all night before they could rescue him because of the heavy weather conditions. At 10.00am the next morning everyone was relieved that they could see two men waving at them from the crash site and thought both men were alive. The family were ecstatic both men were OK only to find out later that someone had managed to get to the site by foot and he was the one waving with Scott and poor Matthew was actually gone. I haven't been to see Scott but according to mutual friends he is being very brave but is obviously devastated about Matthew. The family is having a terribly sad time so please keep them in your prayers.

oh my gosh! I heard about that crash on the news!!
I'm so sorry about the death - it is a miracle your friend got through relatively unscathed though and survived though I am sure he will be suffering with guilt and all that now :(
My best thoughts and wishes to the family :grouphug;
