:santahat; Great idea from kellyT:
If everyone is comfortable doing this, it would be really cool if everyone would email me photos on Christmas morning opening their SS gift, as well as their Christmas morning with their family, dinner, etc., and I'll make a nice video/slide show to music. I just love putting those things together. That way we can all be apart of everyone's Christmas in some small way.
Maybe even include some from New Years Eve! Also, if people send more than 1 photo they may or may not have all photos in the slide show. They can be specific as to preference that way I'll at least include their most favorite photo(s).
:christmastree; kellyt's email is shown on her profile page!
DEADLINE IS JAN. 3, 2009
Thanks Kelly! :rudolph;

Sounds like a great idea. I take pictures all day long, so I will send some her way after Christmas. You all can see the slightly thinner Kitkatz

This assignment will be hard. I can take a picture of the present, but not of myself. For one, I'm not a morning person, I just got to bed, two hard to point and shoot camera at self and get ripping open paper. ;D

She got in the way and wouldn't move. Picked her up, moved her away, and she goes right back looking at the gifts. :urcrazy;

Just opened Okarol's gift to me. It substituted for my SS gift which I will receive later. Such lovely gifts! In it was a lovely little leatherbound journal. I have not kept any kind of diary or records for years. I know exactly what I will do with this. I am going to write thoughts to leave for my grandson, Christopher. i don't know how long I will have with him (he is 5 now). I never thought of that before, so thank you very much, Karol.
There was also a lovely card with a pict of her family as well as a beautiful picture frame.
I am posting a picture of the gifts, as well as one of the gifts from Kitkatz. Since there was no written restriction, I enjoyed Kitkatz's gift the moment I received it, but kept mum about it!!
-
Let's try it again with pics this time!
I had 2 Secret Santas this year! Wow! They were awesome! I have no idea how it happened. But thanks to them both!
From McJane An awesome jewelry collection!
-
And then G-Ma put me into Chocolate heaven. And added to the box collection I have! Awesome box of stuff!
-
A pic of me opening gifts this morning. If I look stoned it is because I am. Vicodin city~
-
No pictures of me that's for sure.
Here is what I got from Sluff I believe I have deduced correctly I hope.
-
Thank you so much Deanne. This is a beautiful photo book of gardens in France. It's in 3 languages...English, French and German and I absolutely love it. Especially in winter when I do my planning and dreaming. She also sent two bars of soap she made. They look a bit funny, kind of homemade rustic, but the soap works great and is really nice on the skin. Here are my photos. Thanks again Secret Santa. You chose well for me. Merry Christmas everyone.
-
Could someone remove this duplicate photo. Damn gremlins. It was supposed to be a close up of the book.
-
I can teach you how monrein.
When you go back to the original post you made, click on Modify that is to the top right of your post. It is in the same area where you click on to Quote someone. When your post comes up to edit, go down to Additional Options. Above the check box of Notify me of replies will be the pictures you have posted. There you will see the option to delete one at a time. Click delete on which photo you want to delete and then click on Save at the bottom of the post to save changes.
Hope this helps Monrein. If not I can do a screen shot on what to look for.
-
Thanks a million Chris. :-*
-
Here are a couple screen shots on what to do.
-
Good instructions Chris! Thanks.
Ok here are my lovely gifts! I would have taken a photo of me opening them, but everyone was too busy opening their gifts, and I am the designated photographer!
First: monrein sent Jamaican grown/Canadian roasted coffee (YUM, can't wait!) and 2 of the most beautiful ornaments, one is red blown glass and the other blue and gold ceramic. There was also a lovely shea butter soap from France and delicious lemon drops soooo good!) She also included a little purple heart shaped box for Jenna and inside is a beautiful pearl and silver bracelet - really special! Jenna loved it! We both thank you for the gifts and the sweet card too! :cuddle;
Next photo: Kitkatz gave me a cute candy dish, a coffee cup the says "Christmas Queen" and a photobox with stationery that says "It's Good to be Queen!" (WOW do I feel important!) There was also an adorable glass ornament from Las Vegas - very special memories there - along with a Celebrate Life pendant. She gave Jenna a wooden Rhino - which she added to the others she has - so cute! Thanks so much Kit!

It is 6 degrees today on Christmas and from my secret Santa who I will call "del" sent me a t-shirt with the Newfoundland logo, a bag of peppermint candy that are tasty and made locally, and the most beautiful pair of hand knit mitts that where made by her Mother. They are made from sheep's wool and are very warm. I will wear them today to our family gathering. Thank you del...Boxman
-
Here's my picture with my gifts from pelagia. She also sent a little bag of spices that are buried somewhere underneath the tree!!!
-
Twirl - Thank you for everything! I love everything!! You can barley see it but I got a "Woodwick" Candle too! Yipee
-
Hey Rerun, we had you up to Easter with that box still unopened!
-
I needed to open it before Twirl had a "come apart"! ;D I actually couldn't wait and opened it on Christmas Eve!!
I love the "WoodWick" Candle.
-
Did she send you the pooch too...Boxman
-
the pooch was a gerbil when I mailed it ???
-
quite resourceful those gerbils are...Boxman
-
the pooch was a gerbil when I mailed it ???
:o
Did it pass through David Copperfields hands and forget to change it back to a gerbil? :rofl; :rofl;
-
No wonder why Twirl was anxious to get Rerun to open the package..magic gerbils! :clap;
-
Pebbles ate the gerbles. Notice her fat tummy! YUM~
:waving;

I am so delighted with my Secret Santa gifts. I asked for cookies and got two packages and one box of delicious Pepperidge Farm cookies and so much more. A Thomas Kinkaid clock I love and will always treasure that plays a Christmas Carol every hour. I have a perfect place for it and it will hang there forever always reminding me of my Secret Santa. There were candles, key chain, personalized snow globes all in a Christmas Stocking.
Someone did a lot of research for these snow globes because they have our names on them. My husband's name, Robert, wasn't easy to find, you would have to go way back to earlier IHD threads to find it. I was very touched by that. I collect snow globes so can't tell you how much they mean to me.
So, Secret Santa I thank you so much for your gifts, I know I love them all very much, but what I don't know is who you are. Who sent me these wonderful things?
-
All the 2008 Holiday Exchange secret Santa threads are now in The IHD Family - Our Members section.
Please post photos here!

Karen sent me a gift card to Barnes & Noble. It was perfect for me. I have a chance at a second income editing doctorate papers for a friend & her collegues, but their papers must be done in the APA style, which I know nothing about. I needed to buy the APA manual. With Karen's help, I was able to run right out to get the manual without breaking my budget.
-
Thank you CW for the wonderful chocolate covered pretzels. Thank you Kitkatz for the Harley Fund bank and coasters and thanks Karol for the cookies. Cookies not pictured because I ate them already. :rofl;
-
I am finally posting our Secret Santa photos. Sorry it took so long. My computer is full!
The first two are of Stephen opening one of his presents from Rerun. I have to post two so that you can get a sense of the humorous aha! moment -- it's clearly a present from someone who "gets it." Then there's a photo of the two of us surrounded by our booty from Rerun and Monrein and with the photo of Rerun and her niece (which is now on our fridge). I also received a fishy from Kitkatz, but that has already found a home in my office at work.
Thank you all! :guitar:
-
I LOVE the SS gifts that I received from MIbarra! I received a Santa pin, some Snickers (yum - my favorite!), a notepad, some Bath and Body shower gel, hand cream and room spray - in one of my favorite scents, Moonlight Path. The most special gift was a custom CD with tracks from my favorite bands - it took be a bit to figure out how on earth she knew my musical tastes so well. She did some great research because all of the bands were from a post where I listed the bands I had seen in concert - and she even included the one act that I still would like to see - Elton John!! Thank you so much for everything Manuela (and thanks to your hubby too - I have a feeling he had something to do with making the CD!
I will attempt to post a pic when I can figure out how to resize!
-
You are welcome! You are correct - hubby made the CD. He owns his own mobile DJ business so I left the music stuff to him. I hope he chose some good stuff. All I did was tell him your favorite bands.
This SS stuff was fun! I can't wait to do it again next year.

Here are Mom's! The Vegemite, Tim Tams and the awesome Aussie clock are from Tamara! There are also some great Paris gifts from KitKatz and OKarol! Okarol also sent a "blinged out" Paris ornament that is so fabulous that it went directly on the big Christmas tree and we forgot to take it down for the picture!

-
here is the tea-for-one that i received. sorry the rest of the goodies got put away in the christmas box.
-
If you ever get Jill D. for a SS, you will be so happy! The homemade candy is almost gone, trying to make it last! There was soap too, which was funny because I do collect them and don't think I THanks again!!!
-
Sorry, it looked small before !!!!!!
-
I thought we were going to get some photos with people as well as the presents. Where is everyone?
-
I tried to but couldn't fit my big head in and see the gifts too!
-
I thought we were going to get some photos with people as well as the presents. Where is everyone?
I kept thinking I would have someone take a photo when I opened my gift - but I forgot because I just ripped into on Christmas morning.
I have 1 lemon drop left (they were SOOOO good) - the coffee is delish - the ornaments (the photos don't do them justice, they are pieces of art!) are packed away and will be much appreciated for many Christmases to come. Jenna will bring a little monrein with her when she attends the Renal Teen Prom next week - wearing the lovely pearl and silver bracelet (her gown is RED, won't that look fabulous?) I will post a photo after the prom!
-
I thought we were going to get some photos with people as well as the presents. Where is everyone?
Well Jess21 nver showed up to take a suprise picture. She must have had Mandy's sister for GPS directions. :rofl; :rofl; :rofl;
Otherwise, I do not take pictures of myself.
-
Trust me the world is a much brighter place now that I was not in my picture and besides Epoman always wants us to keep the resolution size 640X480 or smaller. Would probably only get my arm in that size picture.. :rofl;
-
Well...I may not have shown up at Chris' house, but I did take pictures on Christmas..and here they are to prove it finally!
1st picture: All my items from Lilbajanne! (mouse pad, two candles, a snow globe figurine!)
2nd picture: A close up of the candles (there's shells and sand in them!)
3rd picture: A close up of the snow globe!
4th picture: My dog saying hello!

I love that mouse pad Jess! It's adorable!
