I had a cat named "zit" cause it had an interesting mark on it's face that looked like one. It was a grey stripped tabby queen. I had picked it up as a stray kitten and it loved and trusted me totally.
I have this thing about animals I love em all ok mostly I'm don't suppose mosquito's and flies and such are considered animals but mostly I love them. We had an old house and it had an infestation of mice. Cute little critters white footed field mice not your run of the mill house mouse but they had to go. I couldn't kill them so I devised a way to capture them. I use glue traps but instead of letting them die I would peel them off the trap and put them in a large aquarium I used as a cage. I had wheels and little houses and sawdust in it and they lived their lives being fed and played with. I had been a zoology student in college and had taken care of the zoo lab with all the animals there so caring for rodents was nothing new for me. I had quite a collection but needed to get a couple more who where being very cagey about being caught. I found the small crack in the wall they where using for an entrance so I carefully positioned my glue traps along the wall on either side of the hole which was in a corner. I knew I would catch them and that would be pretty much the last of my problem. Feeling well pleased with myself I went to bed. Later that night I felt my cat Zit sitting on the bed with me making the most pitiful mewling noises. I was surprised and couldn't think what could be wrong with her since this was not a usual behavior for her. I turned on my bedside lamp and there looking at me pitifully was Zit with a mouse stuck on a glue trap stuck to her nose and another one with a mouse stuck on her tail. Both mice where alive and wriggling and she was not a happy cat. Thinking she had a free meal of mouse burgers she had attacked the stuck mouse and getting it stuck to her face had whirled around and backed into the other trap with mouse which got stuck to her tail. I could see she had tried to remove the stuck mice but was totally unsuccessful so in desperation had come to the one person she figured could help her out.... ME!!! I was laughing so hard I could hardly sit up, the look of injured dignity on her face just made me laugh harder. It was not an easy task pulling the glue traps from her fur and while giving me withering glances of outraged cathood she sat quietly while I pull and pried the offending traps from her. I tried not to but couldn't help stripping some of the fur from her like a wax job leaving little bald spots but she never moved or tried to scratch me and I tired not to laugh and injure her pride any more. It was not easy. When I had finally succeeded she stuck her tail in the air and with bald patches on her face and tail made a regal exit from my room to the snickers from me and my husband. The mice where stripped from the traps and put into the cage with their compatriots and lived a long and lazy life of ease. Needless to say Zit never again tried for free mouse burgers from glue traps.

Melinoir, I too am a cat (and animals in general) lover, and this story really tickled me. I could see myself doing the same thing in trying to save the mice.
Thanks for a good laugh! :2thumbsup;

That is a beautiful cat, like the color of a Siberian Tiger almost.
Did you see the news about the cat who had it's face reattached a couple weeks ago?
-
no didn't hear one about a cat having it's face re-attached. There was the very weird/sad case in Perth (Western Australia) a month or two back where a kitten wwas born with two faces?!! It meowed out of both mouths!!! Unfortunately it didn't survive for very long :(
