Hey I was asked how I feel about what is happening to me! It wasn't just the Dialysis either. I've had major surgery from 3 car accidents in the last 10 years have plates, rods, screws, bone grafts, in my legs and arms. I also lost the leg the surgeons worked so hard to save. Lost it to MRSA gangrene (BKA) I am bleeding in both eyes and having laser surgery (for awhile I was blind in my right eye, hope that gets better) Now I'm on Dialysis PD. I say I go through what I do because I have no choice suicide is NOT an option for me. I don't presume to tell others how to feel or what to do with their lives it belongs to them. I however know that in life we have very little control over what happens to us, it's not what happens TO me that to me defines who I am. It's the one thing I do have control over, how I RESPOND :sir ken; to what happens to me. I can whine and complain, and cry, and I do. but I find that is counter productive..... so I try not to. I choose instead to concentrate on humor, laughter, love, kindness, compassion, and all the positive things I want to define who I am. All of us are going to die... I want to live life every second I'm gifted with it...... Melinoir

Absolutely right on the money Melinoir. :flower; It sure isn't easy but there's much to be gained by trying to live this way.

Great attitude, and a lot like the way I feel. I never have been one of those "poor, poor pitiful me" types. As they say, poop happens and sometimes it happens to you. Keep on smiling (or at least grimacing) and get on with your life. I think those of us with that kind of attitude live longer. I applaud your attitude. :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap;

Your positive attitude will serve you well on this rocky ride.

I find humor helps me the most, then animals, followed by my goal to finish college and start working again. Family is not at the top of my list, I need a very long break from them ::) ;D

Hey Cris, :waving; I have found that if you live your life like your going to do something as a matter of course you usually do. :thumbup; So by telling me what you plan to do I'm thinking you will do it. It is my wish for you that you never stop planning and looking at what you will do That you live each day with good expectations and face each experience as an adventure and something to make life more interesting and varied ...... PS as you can see I'm full of opinions and give them out freely they are gifts to be done with as the receiver wishes .... LOL ::)

Excellent attitude! I am with you all the way. I notice that there are lots of people with good health and lots of money, and yet they are depressed and have to seek psychotherapy. That shows me that those things are not what makes you ultimately happy. I has to be your inside - your personal determination to enjoy life, even with its challenges. That keeps me going!
