Kidney patients still need holiday help
SHELBY - Cleveland-Rutherford Kidney Association's annual Holiday Assistance Program serves hundreds with kidney disease, including transplant recipients and dialysis patients.
Sponsors may participate in a variety of ways:
1. Buy gifts from a suggestion list for a specific patient and/or spouse or child or parent within same household.
2. Buy general gifts and CRKA committee will distribute to needy clients.
3. Make a donation to a specific patient trust to use for medicines, groceries, etc.
4. Donate groceries to the patient pantry.
To become a sponsor, contact Reneé Ledford at 704-481-9535 or e-mail kidneyassn@aol.com

Cleveland County cares all year round, but never more intensely, and often intimately, than during the Christmas season.
Are you - or do you know of - a person or group going out of their way to help someone this season?
Tell us about it and we'll be glad to let the rest of the community know.
Send your events, projects and fundraisers that will help others this Christmas to shelbystar@shelbystar.com or fax information to 704-484-0805.
The Star will publish these liberally during the holiday season. Be sure to include a daytime contact person and phone number.
