It's beautiful to look at Boxman, but better you then me. I can't shovel snow like I use to and the cold makes my bones hurt. Are you singing White Christmas?  :cuddle;

Your home is beautiful, Boxman!

The singing I am going to leave too Bing Crosby, the shovel has been pushed a little by me in my electric chair but I also put on my leg and then hang onto the snow blower and clear the drive. Not easy but doable. I just love it when it is snowing out. What I miss is not to be able to get in my Jeep and go for a drive. Going through the neighborhoods at nite when hardly anyone is out and the snow is coming down, is so neat and peaceful., I would do it all the time then, find an empty parking lot and do donuts...Boxman

No, no, no not where I live, thank goodness.  We are really cold {cold for Georgia} but no snow.
The weather is supposed to modify and by Xmas Eve we will have rain.  Rain for Christmas
too. :christmastree; :christmastree;.  I'm sorry for all the kids, rain on Xmas is the pits.
Merry Snoman to you.

Oh the splendor of it all!!!!!

Since we in the Los Angeles basin only get a tiny bit of snow about every 30 years I don't think
we will get any this year. I thought we had a change when the first big storm hit last week since
it was a cold storm, but it was not that cold. If we ever get any appreciable snow here it will be
a complete disaster since nobody here knows how to drive in the snow and/or ice, especially those
with 4 wheel drive who think the drive solves any problems.

It is cold for us, 35 this am, and there was ice on my windshield.  Can't imagine having to de-ice your car every other day just to go to dialysis!  You guys are seriously amazing!!

One year we had a wicked snowstorm and Stephen's family could barely get here for Christmas Day.  Another year we had an ice storm and were out of power for 5 days.  Luckily that's the year I decided to cook seafood for Christmas dinner and my gas stove did the job!  This year they are calling for a 20% chance of rain and temperatures in the 50s.  Your house looks nice Boxman!

Ugh yes, we have over 2 feet of the white stuff thanks to our lovely back to back storms over the weekend.  My dogs love it, but can barely run in it.  My son absolutely LOVES this stuff, he was outside most of the day yesterday ( :2thumbsup;) and Rob and I hate it!  I live in a valley, so we always get dumped a lot more than others.

It was -3 degrees yesterday, today will be in the 20's, tomorrow it's supposed to be in the 40's and sleet/rain, Christmas day it's supposed to be 40's and then after that it will get cold again.  JOY!  All this stuff will be a sheet of ice, ugh!

I have lived in New England all my life and I still can't get used to the cold and the snow.

Here in Southeastern Michigan, the snow is coming down right now.  I already have several inches, and we are expected to have up to 7 more inches by the end of the day Christmas Eve.  It's been really c-c-c-c-cold lately, so the snow doesn't compact, it just blows around, making us need to shovel constantly.  The ice is the scariest part.  I love having a white Christmas, but this is ridiculous.

We had about 15 cm of snow yesterday so yes it will be a white Christmas.  The forecast for Christmas day is rain for some parts of Newfoundland and snow for other parts.  I think we are in the part that is going to get snow. about 15 - 20 cm of snow.  Supposed to rain for a few days after Christmas so it will probably disappear for a while again!!  I really hope we don't get as much snow as we got last year!!!

Nice house boxman!!  nice picture for a Christmas card!!

I was sitting out on the back porch a little while ago.  It's warm for December and windy, too.  The wind chimes were blowing in the breeze and the tree tops were a little wild.  Plenty of stars but no moon in sight.  Santa will be warm, but the landings might be a little tricky.

Well Christmas Day is done here. We had beautiful weather. A bit cool for summer, but not too bad. a max of 22C which is closing in on 75F bright sunshine and a light breeze for most of the day. I took a long walk after lunch with my family and walked a bit over 7km's (about 5miles) and really enjoyed it though my feet did hurt when I got home. However it was very good for the exercise and walking through the gardens and enjoying the fresh(ish) air was lovely.

Tomorrow we are expecting 29C (~85F)

Our snow is ice incrusted. I have from 2 to 6 inches in height of sheets of this stuff on the side of my driveway. I can also send a gerbil or two if you like :rofl; That way the pawing at the ice will create snow inside the box and eventually be a snowglobe. A little yellow maybe, but a snowglobe of something no less. :rofl; :rofl; :rofl; ;D :urcrazy;

I love a day like this, especially if I don't have anything that has to be done.  A walk in the newly fallen, still falling snow is delicious and I find it much warmer when it's actually snowing, if there's no wind.  This snow is light and fluffy, it's still coming down and I've enjoyed watching it.

We got 6 inches of snow overnight!  Most snow we have had in several years.  But, like with Alene, it shuts everything down for days.  The govenor declaired a state of emergency. Malls, banks, clinics, dialysis centers---all closed.  My 5 and 7 year old grandskids had a great time.  They have never seen this much snow.  I had no where to go, big pot of beef vegetable soup simmering and was able to watch the inaguragion (with a sweet kitty curled up on my lap).  Good day for me!

I'm about two hours south of Paris (not Paris, France -- Paris from IHD), and we had four inches of the white stuff on Tuesday.  Yes, here in southeastern North Carolina, four inches of snow shuts down everything.  No school yesterday, and no school today.  Banks, businesses, and everything else shut their doors and went home.   It was beautiful (I love to watch it come down), but now I'm ready for it to melt.  The last time I remember having this much snow was about eight or nine years ago.  Usually, we only have a few flakes here and there.  The last two-three years, we haven't had any snow at all.  I took some pictures, Wattle, and I'm going to try to get them downloaded.

Title: Re: Will you have snow for Christmas

It seems like NC gets snow when the storm comes from the south and cold air is pushing down from the North.  Petey is right--it has been 8 or 9 years since we have had such a nice snow.  Our year round schools have to go Saturday to make up a day of school.  Friday it will be around 60, so the snow event is almost over.
