There is a new site that just started here in Toronto. I sent the info to Monrein and she suggested that I post it on IHD. The site is managed by Dr. Jordan Weinstein , Nephrologist, and professor at University of Toronto and I have emailed him about IHD and he welcomed his site being posted here. Please visit and look around. Great technical information and he will answer questions. If you like it please give a response here to keep this message active so that others will visit. It will never be the same as IHD but it does have medical info. The first half of the page will be for Renal Physicians and half way down the page will be a patient forum. Let me know what you think.

It is just getting started. Looked interesting. Might be nice to get a doc's opinion on something now and then.

I joined. Thanks Razman.

I also joined, now to find my way around :o

Hi everyone,
My name is Dr. Jordan Weinstein and I started and administer UKidney.com, the site that is mentioned above. I hope you will find this a useful place to post questions that might be on your mind. I am not trying to replace or outdo your outstanding forum. But if you ever have questions about nephrology and dialysis and would like a physician perspective, stop by.
All the best,
Jordan

I had a look and began to join then...................
noticed that my email address would be visible on my profile.
Not sure about the security and who can access this info so I didn't continue with membership
I feel "safe" here at IHD because my email address is only accessible to the moderators thus no spam buggers etc.

:welcomesign; Jordan. I'm a patient at TGH and have joined your site. Great idea and I look forward to it really getting going so we can learn all we can about dialysis and transplantation.
I had my first transplant (cadaveric) at St Mike's. Dr. Struthers was the surgeon and Dr Cole was my neph. I followed Ed Cole to TGH and that transplant lasted over 23 years.
This site is a great resource for patients, and yours is too.
