Anyone want to join me in some walking? 8)
-
OK - I walk 4 - 5 days a week. I try to do 60 minutes each time.
-
Man...I need to get some energy back >:( I used to go to the gym 3 days a week, do 30 minutes on the treadmill and then 90 minutes of weights and now I can't go up the steps without taking a break. Grrrr....
I will be there in spirit...how's that? Keep on truckin'
-
I am working out three days a week and the trainer wants me to walk the other days. So okay.
-
I've been going to the gym. I walk 30 minutes (1.5 miles) on the treadmill and then go home. I'm working up to more. I even went swimming yesterday.... it was a whole workout getting that wet swimming suit off! GEEZ
-
Oh, 30 minutes is my maximum at the current time, as well. I did 33 minutes today because I wanted to finish the song I was listening to. I'm supposed to be walking at a slow pace, like 2 mph, but I usually go at 2.8 or 2.9. I've been raising the incline to 1.5 - 2 and then I go maybe 2.5 mph. We used to have a gym membership, but I just didn't have the energy to go. And when I did I could barely move on the treadmill, much less do weights and such. So we dumped the membership and purchased a treadmill. I'm trying to walk three days a week now, but I will increase to a five once my stomach isn't so swollen and uncomfortable.
Thanks for walking with me, ya'll. Our next walk will be.....FRIDAY! I go for labs and my 3rd IVIG treatment tomorrow.

I love my treadmill. I got mine for free - best price ever. (My sister got sick of tripping over it in her bedroom.) I don't usually do a set time - I try to do a set mileage. I like to do a mile most days, and half a mile if I'm in a rush. I like to alternate speeds. I start with 2 mph, up it to 3 when I'm warmed up, then crank it up to 5 and run for a bit. Then I drop back to 2 and start over. If I'm short on time, I can do the walk/jog/run cycle twice and finish a half mile in about 10 minutes. I find I lose weight if I can do the mile every day - but the half mile even 4 days a week keeps me from gaining.
-
That sounds like a good work-out, jbeany. However, I don't run unless something is chasing me! And even then I ususally give up pretty quick! :rofl; I was terrible at tag and hide-and-go-seek as a child. I just hid until they said it was safe to come out!
-
I can't run for very long! Maybe a minute or two at the most. In the summer, I do a brisk walk around the two little blocks here in town. The back stretch is a dirt road with no houses, and I run when I get back there out of sight. I can barely manage to keep it up for 3/4 of that block. If I'm ever chased by a maniac, heck, I'm just gonna get killed!
Hey, I figure it's the effort that counts, not whether or not I'm ever gonna be in any shape to run a marathon.
-
Today was my first day back in a gym and let me tell you.................. I haven't been in a gym for over a year and I could really tell. But I guess I have to start somewhere. I just hope I keep motivated
-
Starting is the easy part. Sticking with it is the problem!
-
I go work out with my trainer today. Pool work today. It will be fun if I do not drown myself.
-
Don't forget your arm floaties!!!!!! ;D
-
What channel is all this action on?
I keep flipping but cant find it.
I sit on the couch and let my restless legs run from there.
We :clap; are gonna try to stop smoking starting saturday morning. This is the last vice i am trying to kick. Also the hardest and if you knew my background well............. So im hoping for the best :-)
So i will be joining you for your walks next week :waving;
-
Lets not, but say I did.
-
Come on, sluffy - get a move on!
-
I'm going over to the gym right now. I was going to skip today, but after reading this I got motivated.
:thumbup;
-
I did the work out with the trainer, then swam six laps afterwards. I must be crazy. Exercise may become a new addiction!
-
:clap; Kitkatz and Rerun!!! :2thumbsup;
-
What else do Kitkatz and Rerun have in common? Hummmm???
Nocturnal Dialysis. Longer more cleanzing may lead to more energy.

More frequent home hemo has the same effect on me. In center, I had to force my self to exercise because I was always too tired. On NxStage, I have to force myself to exercise because I'm too busy.

Also higher KT/V
Oops we are in the off topic section. Better get back on topic....
Victor and I are off to the gym this morning. Trainer says "Do 30 min on elliptical and 30 on the bike." "Hah" I say! I will let you know how I did.
-
So.....how did you do Kitkatz? I'm waiting for my lunch to settle and then I'll be on the treadmill, too! I plan on 30 minutes. That's about 1 1/2 miles and 160 +/- calories burned.
-
I hate that little calorie counter. I bust my *** for half an hour, and it tells me I haven't burned enough calories to even account for a snack, let alone a whole meal.
-
I wonder just how accurate that calorie counter is. We purchased this treadmill earlier in the year and I only just realized that I could enter my weight prior to walking. Before the calories burned was much less. Now that I enter my weight it's a little higher.

I went to exercise and the body and brain just were not in it. I think not enough sleep last night.
I did 21 minutes on the bike, five on the treadmill, five on the elliptical, then ran two laps in the work out room, danced a little, then swam twenty laps in the pool. I had to talk my self into the last ten laps. I skipped the hot tub and took a shower. Lordy, the water in the shower did not warm up until five minutes or so into the shower. The gym scale says I am down nine real pounds. From 243 to 234. Not bad for an old woman and three months of exercise three days a week.
-
:thumbup; Kitkatz.
-
The doc told me my potassium was up and the albumin was low. I told him it was probably because I was working out three days a week. He stopped, said what? How long have you been working out? I said about three months. He just looked at me. I think I surprised him.

It sounds like you had a good work-out, actually. That's alot of stuff you did! I especially like the "danced a little". :pics; please.... ;)

My children just ran the 26 mile marathon. They have run 3 of them. I walked from the car to the finish line to watch them "run across". Boy was I tired!!!
-
I hate running!
I walked tonight, but only made it 15 minutes before my incision starting hurting. ??? I stopped at 15. I'll walk again tomorrow. Sometimes your body just says "NO".
-
OHHH yeah! Boogie,boogie! :bandance; :bandance;
You're a maniac, a MANIAC!

YEsterday it was:
ten minutes on the elliptical
an hour with the trainer
Twenty laps swam in the pool
The weather is getting cold for California. I have to be crazy to go into the pool. But it was heated and felt pretty good. Just had to scurry out out of the wind when I got out.
-
Thursday I worked out an hour with the trainer in the pool. The clouds and rain cleared out enough for a pool work out. Thank you Cloud Gods! My trainer is going back to school, so I get a new trainer in January. :stressed;
I did seven minutes on the bike before going in the pool and seven minutes waiting on Victor to change. So 14 total. Also got into the hot tub and soaked for fifteen minutes. AAAHHH! Warm!
-
14 lbs! That's truely amazing! Congratulations! What are you eating these days? Have you noticed a big change in your appetite - bigger or smaller?
-
Read that again. 14 minutes on the bike. 9 pounds total loss. But hey not bad.
-
9 lbs is still great! Congratulations! :clap; I'm sure it will be 14 before too long!
