Title: I told a whopper ( sorry Kimmie)
Post by: twirl on December 09, 2008, 04:04:31 AM
Kimcanada sent me a package
and I just posted I would not open it
I opened the package and it was a box for a fan
I thought how odd but it does get hot in texas
then I opened that box and inside was a lovely box with an angel pin that says "friends"
and you know I simply love Kimmie
but in the box was a sculpture of a dog and I could not love it more
he has the funniest paws
he could look like Sad sack and she is by me and she is getting worse
then I got a sun catcher that is cute as hell
and a kitchen angel
that I have never seen anything like it before and this makes my day
thanks
sorry, you are friends with a untruth teller
Kimmie, you send cool stuff
( so do you Kitz)
love it
and I am having a down time now
and you made me feel better
what else could a friend do
thanks
by the way
after Christmas day you are getting a box of grits from me
yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy
thanks and love
twirl

With kidney disease, you might be here today, gone tomorrow. I think  a gift should be opened when its owner thinks the time is right. GO TWIRL  :thumbup;

Grits are ground up corn kernels, I think, I have never had any. Grits are similar to other thick maize-based porridges from around the world such as polenta. It also has a resemblance to farina, a thinner porridge.

No I haven't opened the presents. I did admit to opening the box.   :shy;

But my SS was way ahead of me and wrapped the gifts. I will post a pic of them sitting under my tree. The presents sitting there is now torture for my kids..... which is now kind of fun to watch   >:D  They now want to open them more than me.

Close Karol, but unlike polenta they grind up only the white starchy part of the corn.  No husk and no germ.  White as snow and pure starch.  This is why you need salt and butter, or cheese, or even milk and sugar.  Without those additions the flavor is very bland!

Thanks Karol, think I'll give grits a miss - I almost think our grit (mix of sand & salt spread on icy roads) would taste better  :rofl;

But, it's important for me to point out that I LIKE THEM!  Just as I like noodles and rice and potatoes and dumplings (oh yes, especially dumplings) and spaetzle and cous cous.

Is gits like Cream of Wheat?

Only see the grits once in awhile, but with out any fruit flavors like oatmeal and cream of wheat have in the breakfast aisle.
