Title: My Dad is new to Dialysis
Post by: Quark on December 02, 2008, 04:37:16 AM
Hi everyone,

I am Ahsan (pronounced: Ah-sun) from Pakistan. My dad is a CKD / ESRD patient and is now on dialysis.

I was searching for information regarding dialysis when he was advised and a found this site. I think it is the best site on all of the internet regarding dialysis and judging from the posts, the community feels like exceptionally helpful and friendly. I have joined this site to help my father through the troubles he is facing because of his health. Thanks for welcoming me.

My dad is a 59 year old male from Pakistan who has had diabetes for around two decades and has undergone a bypass heart surgery in the year 2000. He says hi to everyone (he is not computer and internet savvy). He has had a total of three dialysis sessions since the first one on November 27, 2008.

I am looking forward for help on my future questions regarding dialysis, fistulas etc.

Regards

Ahsan

:waving; Ahsan, I'm here for a parent as well. My mom is 76 and is pre-dialysis. She has a graft but her numbers are holding. Besides that in common, my mom is also not computer savvy. I've been thinking of trying to teach her, but that won't go too far.

IHD members are a caring group. You are made to feel at home. One of the best things at this site is there are related disease threads such as diabetes. My mom is also diabetic.

Tell dad I said 'Hi!' See you around the boards.
