Title: Google predicts flu trends earlier than the CDC
Post by: pelagia on November 15, 2008, 06:29:01 PM
Google has found that certain search terms are good indicators of flu activity. Google Flu Trends is now using aggregated Google search data to estimate flu activity in your state up to two weeks faster than traditional systems (e.g. the Centers for Disease Control, CDC).

You can look at how your state is doing.  Most states have had low flu incidence so far this year, but a few, which are mostly in the mid-Atlantic to southeast are already to the moderate activity stage.

It's a good reminder to get a flu shot if you haven't already.

It will be interesting to watch and see if this is accurate this winter.  :thumbup;

They gave us pneumonia shots at dialysis, and are to give us flu shots shortly.  Never had one before in my entire life!  I mean the shots, not the 'flu!!

I got my flue shot last week. Now I have to get my family to do it.
