The borough has their Christmas wreaths up on the light poles, and several stores in town already have their windows decorated. Light up night is November 28th, lots to do outside before then.
Back on topic, I enjoyed building my Thanksgiving decoration.

Took Halloween decorations down today. Beth and I host a "cousins" costume party the weekend after Halloween. The seven of them don't always get to trick or treat together, so we decided a couple of years ago to have a Halloween party for them with no parents allowed. And they all sleep over!! 7 between 3 and 10! We finally got all asleep around midnight! They had a great time. Beth did a great job with black lights, dry ice, and decorations. Then, in the morning, we took them all outside. It was a glorious fall day and our yard was full of leaves. So, we raked piles and they all jumped! Simple pleasures :2thumbsup; We sent them home dirty, tired, leaves all over them, and stuffed with candy----I love being a Nana!! :rofl; Now I have to unpack the pilgrams and turkeys!

so what time is dinner? :waiting;

Hey Joe Paul, love it. You don't often see Thanksgiving decorations as nice as that with lights & all.
-
Someone not far from my house has two 10 foot tall blow up turkeys in front of his house. Now there's a man who loves his turkey dinner!

JoePaul,
Yeah, those are cute and like someone else said, you don't see alot of T'giving decorations with lights. So, how did you make it? Or will it take too long to tell us how you made it? Anywho, just wanted to tell you I thought it was cute!

The pilgrims and turkey are store bought. The platform is what I built, using a 1/2 inch piece of plywood, 4 feet long, 18 & 1/2 inches wide and 2 - 2 by 4s. I cut 1 - 2 by 4 in half for the length of the base, then cut 2 - 15 1/2 inch pieces for the width, and 4 - 16 inch pieces for the legs from the 2nd 2 by 4. I then built the frame, using 3 1/2 sheet rock screws, attached the base with 2 inch sheet rock screws, then the legs to the frame using 3 1/2 inch lag bolts and flat washers. Next, I sanded the entire platform, to ensure the sealent/stain would adhere. I then placed the pilgrims and turkey on the platform, and with a pencil outlined each of the bases of the figures. Looking at the bases of each of the figures, marked with x's where to drill through the base of the platform, to attach the figures with sheet metal screws, 4 in each one. I then placed each figure back over its outline, then drilled up through the base (through previously drill holes) into the figures for screw placement. Next step was to stain/seal the whole platform, for weather protection. I then used 1/8 inch wire staples, to attach the string of orange lights, over each of the bases of the lights to the frame. Used the string of leaves and attached those in between the bulbs with my staple gun . I attached the pilgrims and turkey to the platform with 4 -1/8 by 3 1/2 sheet metal screws, 4 in each figure. Final step was to tack the wires from each figure and the string of lights, to the platform, then run those underneath, into a junction block for neatness & keep it out of the weather. The project took about 2 and 1/2 days, and you can see the end result.
