Hi everyone. I have awesome news..... :yahoo; :yahoo; I HAVE GOTTEN A KIDNEY. The hospital called me on monday oct 6th at 2:30 and told me that there might be a donor for me and that they needed to just finish doing some testing and at 4:18 that day they callled me to come in. By midnite that monday i was in surgery and was in my room recovering by 5:30. I CAN'T BELIEVE that i have a new kidney in me. I am so damn blessed :bow; The donor was a young man who died who was very healthy. it hits me hard often how lucky i am. I had been told by my doctorts that i wouldnt be able to get a kidney from a deceased person as i already had had one that didnt work but this one matched 100%. Praise God. I am finallyable to spread my wings and fly. I pray everyday that it works forvever and taht all the other people who need an organ will get it. Thank you for your support . Oct 7th is now my other birthday...a day i can really celebreate. AMEN

i just got a chance to read the replies to my post about my kidney transplant and i wanted to thank you guys for your love and support. :grouphug; It means a lot to me...started crying again when i saw it. i can't believe how blessed i am and how lucky i am. I am writing a letter to the donor family and would one day love to meet them and thank them in person. how you thank someone for saving your life and giving you a second chance. I feel like i was a Caterpillar and now am a butterfly and can fly (literally and figuratively) to wherever. I just wish my mom was here to share in this good news. Oct 31 will be four years since she passed away. time is going by so fast. As for the cats i know karol asked...i had two of my friends check on them often...and boy did they miss me. Chloe my female was pissed at me though for having been away so long and ignored me for several days, Milo on the otherhand was so happy to see me he went crazy. Speaking of the devil he just walked in. I get so overwhelmed at times and just start crying tears of joy. I also spontaneously praise God at times. I get funny looks when i start humming or get a really really big smile on my face. :2thumbsup; I also do a lot of :yahoo;. it's about time we all got a chance to spread our wings and fly. I get strange stares from people the rare times i go out into the store or something and i just smile and tell people that i just had a kidney transplant. the day i got out my gf took me to the grocery store as i had no food in the house and it was busy and everyone was looking at me...i was driving one of those wheelchair thingys. and i just waved like i was miss america and told everyone i just had a transplant. lol i got few claps. i have never felt this healthy both physically and emotionally. I know that there are going to be setbacks and i am prepared for that roller coaster...lol i hate roller coasters. I have a clinic appt tomorrow. i have a lot of pain at times and I'm worried might have pulled on the kidney too much and knocked out a stich inside? can one do that? I'll have to ask my cute doctor tomorrow. Well off to do some writing and then see if i can get an hour or two of sleep. God bless everyone and thanks again for your support.

Fabulous story! I read it really, really fast, as that's the way I felt it was going through her brain and out her mouth (through her hands, of course). :)
I couldn't be happier for you and your cats! :beer1;

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

went to the clinic on monday...my creatine was 1.8!!!!!!!!!!!! wow what a number. Amazing. Today has been a roller coaster kind of day...i went out tonite to go food shopping, and what an adventure...lol. i didn't realize food shopping could be so fun. The things we take for granted. Every moment is special no matter what you are doing. at times i feeling like :boxing; the walls of my apt as i am so sick of looking at them. And by the way...pple need to teach children better manners..actually there are plenty of adults who need a lesson in manners. Didn't anyone ever tell them that it is not right to stare. :Kit n Stik; i also got to go to the bookstore and load up on my books...which is great since there is nothing on tv...800 channels and still nothing lol. and i swear if i watch another 'judge something" show i am gonna scream. I still have some pain and need to remind myself to slow down at times as i feel like i am ready to face the world straight on. I go in on nov 21st for surgery to take out my PD cath...i am gonna miss that little guy...lol. it has been part of me for so long. gonna be strange when it comes out as i'm so careful about it now and no pulling on it and such. i was reading pples stories about their cath sites and i thank god that mine didn't come out. My doctors are so pleased at my recovery and how well i am doing. Sorry my thoughts are all over the place tonight. Thanks again for all your thoughts as they help tremendously. Have a great day/nite and take care.

Your progress gives us all hope for those of us still waiting that we, too, can have a fantastic transplant and recovery!!
Hope the pain eases soon...
and you know the kids and people are staring because you're so glowing with energy and happiness now they, like the chick in "when Harry met Sally" want "what she's having" !!!! They're jealous!!!

hmmm question...i go in on oct 21st to have the pd clath removed and to have the stent they used in the transplant removed. This may be a dumb question but that means that the scar that is finally healing will have to be oppened up again to take the stent out right? Am worried about it. Also has anyone had a pd cath removed, i know i have to go under but do they open me up to take it out or just kind of pull? The cath i know is in deep in me in my adbomen. Silly questions and i know that i shouldnt be so worried esp since i have already been through the major surgery. Will this procedure put me back a bit as i will have to recover from being opened again? ???

Jenna's stent was removed using a small instrument that was inserted through the urethra. There's was a little tug and it was out. She was uncomfortable for about 3 minutes total, and said it wasn't too bad. She was awake the whole time.
