I have been on Home Hemo for about 6 and a half months, all my levels are great. All but my pth, it stays right at 300 to 322. my neph said that would come down when my phos, level came down. I think he said that without checking what my phos. was at. It was 2.9. I have tried zemplar, found out to be allergic to that one. Have tried hectoral didn't work. I am now on nothing, Doc is back to "it will come down with the phos." I am lost and need some answers. any help.

What's your blood calcium?
Maybe you need to ask your nephrologist about taking Sensipar every other day.
But you need to watch out that you PTH doesn't go below 150, or you could develop another problem.

Yeah, heard that line of BS, too. My phos was a bit high. Got on a better binder, and the phos went down. The PTH just went up and up. Mine's 1800. Surgery is scheduled for Wed.
The docs don't start yelping until it's over 1000 - at least they didn't for me. No one was in a hurry to do anything, so having it at 300 is unlikely to inspire them to action unless you really push them. Remind them that the phos isn't high, and kick and scream until they pay attention to you!
