So my cold is still here. I am passed the sore throat stage, and now am at the coughing/stuffy nose stage lol. I am just wondering what types of food I should eat? Please do not say chicken noodle soup- I may turn into a chicken if I eat anymore~ I love soups though. What do you all eat when you're sick?
-
It depends on what kind of "sick" I am. With a cold, yup, usually chicken noodle soup. If I'm just feeling a "little left of center," I usually eat lighter stuff, like very thin oatmeal. Of course, it sure helps if you drink a lot of fluids. Hope you're feeling better soon.

i eat whatever i darn well feel like when i'm sick. which is usually nothing. i often have to force myself to eat, and with that problem i usually don't pay any attention to it being kidney friendly or not. so i tend to eat things like mashed potatoes and bananas. (i know, not much help, am i?)

sometimes if you are real sick

I really like super hot spicy foods when I am feeling congested. There is a Thai place in Marysville that does a cucumber lettuce and tomato salad with spicy beef or chicken on it, and you can get it really hot. Its got a little bit more sodium then we should eat, but you can stay under 2000mg if you watch what you eat the rest of the day.
You can make it too, light salad, wok some beef or chicken strips in Chili Garlic sauce (http://www.huyfong.com/no_frames/garlic.htm) and a little low salt soy sauce.
I like a little ginger in there too.
